A few pics of the fun!

Over the pass and to the woods!

Steve and I traveled to visit Matt, Maddy, and Clara for the weekend. Great grandma Alice came too as well as Great Aunt and Uncle Kathy and Roger. We had a delicious meal of tenderloin, au gratin potatoes, salad and apple and huckleberry pie. Briton and Jenny joined us for dinner too. We had a wonderful time.

Yes, that is our yard. We have tons of crabgrass but I tried to pick a spot without any! BTW, do you want some white canterbury bells? I remember you said you liked the white and I have a couple plants that I will be digging up in the Fall.

After taking a couple months off I am back to Learning 2.0!

I am on to task 11, a thing about library thing. I just set up an account using my blog name and it was easy and a great way to keep track of my favorite books. I'll stay on this task for awhile as it may be something I will use outside of work. Plus, it will help me review what widgets are and how to use some of the other features. FUN!

A beautiful June day in the yard.

I have been digging crab grass out of my front flower bed for days now and I can see where that weed got its name. I can get very crabby after several hours of pulling the darn things. I am amazed at their roots, they are so sharp they can bore right through other root plants and choke good plants out. I have salvaged a lot of my perennial plants that Maddy and I planted over the years and I have been able to share them with friends and co-workers. I found plants in this bed that were almost dead thanks to this invasive, hard to kill weed. I plan to win this battle!

How about this! Carlie helped me with this image generator and it IS fun. I am going to play around with this a lot.

I looked at most of the rss feeds and liked the news feed icons. Technorati was listed as a favorite but I found it confusing. (I am having fun posting pics on my blog!)

I am back at Learning 2.0 today and wanted to add one more thing before I leave task 7. I realized the other day when trying to troubleshoot the office printer that for years I have been thinking machines/technology is smarter than I am. I had to laugh a little at the absurdity of a machine being smarter than a person( since people created them) and since then, I have been less intimidated by them when they malfunction.

I feel just like this cat after spending 20 minutes trying to "get" the task 9 finding feeds. I looked at a few but didn't know what to do with them so I will try again when I am in a better mood!

Task #7 is to blog about technology...I am amazed at the amount of time one can spend sitting at a computer on the internet with all the things available to do. I am enjoying having a blog and at some point may write one for real. The other thing that amazes me is the speed with which things can be done such as taking a pic, downloading it and sharing it with others. This from one who remembers the little brownie cameras that took a week to get pictures developed.
